Job Description

Join the Clean Energy Revolution Become an Interconnection Strategy & Policy Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll take on significant strategic and operational responsibilities, serving as a subject matter expert for the interconnection process and representing SCE in regulatory and stakeholder forums. The Senior Advisor is responsible for ensuring compliance through formal communications, reviewing contracts and tariff changes, updating contract templates, leading training, leading policy development, and aligning interconnection planning. By providing expert guidance, you will directly impact SCE's interconnection regulatory alignment and operational effectiveness. As an Interconnection Strategy & Policy Senior Advisor , your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities Facilitates and contributes to the development of the Company's policy positions, collaborating with subject matter experts to identify key issues, propose solutions, and refine strategies that align with the desired goals and values Develops long-term policy strategies and advocacy plans, tracking emerging issues across the energy policy landscape, coordinating additional analysis, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to create effective advocacy options Leads cross-functional regulatory case teams, supporting regulatory activities, including the development of filings, facilitation of meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and responding to data requests Manages internal communication related to regulatory proceedings, driving engagement to ensure alignment and support for regulatory strategies Builds and maintains strong relationships with key external stakeholders at crucial organizations, facilitating engagement and collaboration to advance the company's policy objectives Monitors and analyzes regulatory and legislative developments at the state and federal levels, identifying potential impacts on the company's operations to recommend appropriate responses Provides guidance and knowledge of regulatory processes and best practices to ensure effective participation in regulatory proceedings Delivers reports and other crucial communication materials to effectively convey the company's policy positions and advocacy strategies to internal and external audiences A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications Ten or more years of experience in regulatory affairs, processes and policy development. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or other Post-Graduate Degree (such as MBA, JD) in Business, Law, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related technical discipline. Experience in regulatory and stakeholder engagement, particularly with FERC, CAISO and SCE interconnections processes. Expertise in compliance, contract review, contract template development and tariff oversight to ensure operational and regulatory alignment. Experience leading policy updates, coordinating interconnection planning, and serving as a subject matter expert in utility operations. Effective communication skills for representing SCE in formal communications and contract matters with external partners. Experience reviewing, approving, and recommending changes to tariffs, as well as participating actively in working groups to influence tariff changes. Additional Information This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
