Job Summary:
The OCWI Investigative Analysts complete research assignments and disseminates information to authorized personnel from closed and open sources. The Analyst serves as Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Assistant System Security Officer(s) (ASSO) for
DCS & OCWI.
This position serves as a subject matter expert in the area of closed and open-source research, analysis, and information dissemination. This position also serves as a subject matter expert in the area of the access, use, dissemination, and training of the Arizona Criminal Justice Information System.
Job Duties:
Researches, compiles, processes, and analyzes investigative information obtained using various local, state, and federal databases, as well as open-source and third party paid resources, for the purpose of generating investigative leads. Disseminates leads to authorized recipients with a right-to know & a need-to-know in compliance with DCS, locate, state, and federal laws, policies, and procedures. Serves as

Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Assistant System Security Officer (ASSO). ASSO's maintain compliance with the laws & policies governing ACJIS access, maintain & send authorized personnel lists, deliver training, assist with internal & external audits, monitor for unauthorized access of the ACJIS, and complete background checks. Creates visual representations of investigative information by preparing analytical Products (i.e. Timelines, Association Charts, and Maps) for the purpose of investigations, court proceedings, law enforcement partners, and other meetings. Collaborates with law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies; attend meetings; provide briefings to OCWI Chief, OCWI Analyst Manager, & OCWI Analyst Assistant Manager. Stays up to date on technological changes, research & analytical techniques, and other relevant areas to ensure the OCWI Analyst Unit is using up-to-date resources, technologies, and techniques. Other duties as assigned as related to the position. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
Federal, state, and local laws, rules, and OCWI and DCS policies pertaining to information gathering techniques (use internally only) Analytical product creation The use of computer and software programs Team concepts, including: participation and group problem solving techniques Spelling, grammar and punctuation required to produce complex written documents ACJIS rules and regulations Skill in: Verbal and written communication Interpersonal relations Resource utilization Researching, gathering, organizing and analyzing data and drawing logical conclusions Editing and proofreading written materials for accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures Public speaking/relations Ability to: Exercise good judgment in prioritizing request, collecting information, organizing projects and making recommendations Design graphical presentations Interpret and explain complex subjects systematically and clearly Make presentations to small and large audiences Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external parties Think logically Work independently Handle multiple tasks with efficiency and effectiveness. Selective Preference(s): Two (2) years of experience with a law enforcement, criminal justice, or military agency compiling data, analyzing findings, and visual product creation. Two (2) years of college education in a criminal justice related field may substitute one (1) year of experience.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
The ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry. The ability to secure and maintain level B terminal operator certification for ACJIS from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. This position does require driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business.
