Job Description This position requires direct, compassionate and confidential support to adult survivors of rape, sexual assault or sexual harassment, and their loved ones. (This includes taking some 24-hour hotline and on-call duties) The NWA Center for Sexual Assault is seeking a Faith-Based Advocate - this is a full time staff position whose duties include: direct advocacy and support services for all adult survivors of sexual assault who seek services at the
This advocate will forward the outreach efforts of the Center's Grace for Survivors project. Grace for Survivors provides Guidance, Resources, Awareness, Compassion, and Education for adult survivors of sexual assault and the faith communities that support them. Grace for Survivors connects faith leaders with sexual assault service providers to help meet the healing needs of survivors who seek comfort from faith communities. An understanding of the scope and impact of "rape culture" and victim blaming is vital to being successful at this job. Good candidates will be able to discuss the systemic impact that rape culture and racism may have on survivors of sexual assault.
Center:
creating and delivering presentations regarding Center services and issues surrounding sexual assault; and leading community outreach/education efforts to the faith-based community regarding supporting survivors of sexual assault.This advocate will forward the outreach efforts of the Center's Grace for Survivors project.
