Job Description

Hiring Department Missouri Partners in Prevention is a statewide coalition of colleges and universities in Missouri dedicated to creating healthier and safer campus communities. Missouri PIP staff assist campuses to identify data-driven evidence-based public health interventions to address substance misuse, mental health concerns, interpersonal violence, and other college health concerns. Our student internship program allows students to gain professional experience in a public health work environment. Job Description Summary The Research Intern will provide crucial evaluation and research reporting services to Missouri Partners in Prevention campuses and the general community. This position is typically filled by undergraduate or Master's-level students in public health, health sciences, psychology, or epidemiology. Primary roles will include data analysis using SPSS, report writing, virtual presentations, communication with campus partners, and evaluation services for various statewide programs. Missouri Partners in Prevention's mission is to: Create healthy and safe college campuses. Reduce high-risk behaviors among Missouri college students. Assist campuses statewide in implementing evidence-based strategies. Create a communication network of health and well-being professionals across campuses. Provide training and technical assistance to campus professionals and students. Essential Functions As the Research Intern, the selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties, including: Creating evaluation reports on the Missouri Assessment of Collegiate Health Behaviors Survey (MACHB). Assisting with data entry of 2026 MACHB Survey results Researching and crafting questions to incorporate into the 2027 MACHB survey Providing data analysis upon request and compiling the results into readable formats. Creating and providing data presentations as requested. Attending weekly staff meetings and check-ins with the rest of the PIP team to provide progress on tasks and solicit feedback/assistance.
Shift Anticipated start date:
early/mid-May 2026 15-30 hours per week, paid on a biweekly basis This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule. Minimum Qualifications Experience with SPSS or similar data analysis software, including SAS and/or R Studio. Proficient keyboarding skills are necessary. Strong organization, customer service and communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience using Qualtrics is preferred but not required. Prior experience with health literacy and developing health communication materials for a lay audience is preferred.
Anticipated Hiring Range Salary:
$15.25 per hour, paid on a bi-weekly basis
