Assignment Length:
Approximately 3 - 6 Months, possibly longer.
DESCRIPTION
Our client, a municipal Planning & Development Department, is seeking an experienced Senior Planner for a temporary assignment expected to run approximately six months. This is an excellent opportunity for planning professionals with strong leadership experience and expertise in development entitlement projects and zoning regulations. The Senior Planner will oversee complex planning projects, provide guidance to planning staff, and support the department's development review and zoning amendment processes. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned planning professional capable of managing multiple projects while ensuring compliance with applicable planning policies and regulations. Key Responsibilities Manage development entitlement applications and related planning projects. Lead and coordinate zoning code amendment initiatives. Review and approve staff reports, decision letters, and planning recommendations. Supervise and mentor planning staff. Assign and monitor project workloads to ensure timely completion. Provide technical expertise and support on complex planning matters. Collaborate with internal departments, stakeholders, and project teams
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of five (5) years of professional planning experience. Strong knowledge of land use planning, zoning regulations, and entitlement processes. Experience supervising or leading planning staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. INDH
