Duties Help As a Chief, Internional Aviion Pricing & Multileral Affairs, you will : Initie, plan, organize, direct and conduct the development of economic and political air transportion issues before the Interagency Group on Internional Aviion (IGIA), which is the policy body responsible for the coordinion of U.S. Government positions in multileral organizions. Serve as the Office of the Secretary's (OST) representive in the IGIA process. Serve as the United Stes Member on various Internional Civil Aviion Organizion (ICAO) bodies such as the Air Transport Regulory Panel (ATRP) and may be called upon to chair such bodies as U.S. policy priorities dicte. Serve as the Department's principal liaison with the U.S. Permanent Representive to ICAO. Coordine with other Department offices and other government agencies such as the Departments of Commerce, Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, and Ste, industry groups and trade associions, and others on internional aviion policy issues in the areas of transportion facilition, security, trade, user charges, accessibility, and health mitigion. Maintain a continuing surveillance of Internional Air Transport Associion (IATA) activities, i.e., conferences, proposals, and discussions, and may tend as the Government's official observer. Monitor the progress of relevant aviion legislion affecting multileral affairs and recommend approprie DOT policy responses. Determine the program objectives for assigned geographical areas, develop plans of work for achieving program goals, set priorities, prepare work schedules. Oversee, manage, and direct staff-level review of individual carrier tariff proposals and staff-level recommendions with respect to DOT decisions, ensuring th required actions, notices, orders etc., are completed within the required time limit. The ideal candide is a seasoned, motived and self-reliant professional who can share their expertise in negotiing internional civil air transportion agreements between the United Stes and foreign Governments with skilled professionals who ensure the safety and fairness of the transportion industry. This position is in the DOT building, which sits directly across the street from the Metro and a few blocks away from the Nionals' Baseball stadium. Experience articuling internional civil aviion policy positions before multileral organizions, industry groups, and/or foreign government officials as a regular and recurring part of your job with minimal supervision.
