Job Description

Responsible for planning, development, and administration of transportation programs, planning studies, marketing, marketing research, federal government transit programs, grant administration. Serves as a liaison for Hallandale Beach with the business community, citizen groups, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Broward County, and other governmental agencies. Work is performed under nominal direction with considerable latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position develops solutions to non-routine issues, without appreciable guidance from others and exercises significant latitude in determining best approaches to critical assignments. To view full job description, please click on the job title: Transportation Planner Bachelor's Degree in Public or Business Administration, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Engineering or related field. Three (3) or more years' experience in the public transportation field: planning, management, engineering, or operations; grants management experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Certified planner designation from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred. Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
