Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Drayage Operations Support specialist to enhance our logistics and supply chain processes. In this role, you will be instrumental in coordinating drayage activities, optimizing transportation workflows, and ensuring seamless communication between carriers, warehouses, and clients. Your expertise will help streamline freight movement, improve operational efficiency, and support overall supply chain excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic logistics environment where your analytical skills and process improvement ideas will make a tangible impact. Duties Assist in managing day-to-day drayage operations, including scheduling pickups and deliveries with carriers and warehouses Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track shipments, inventory levels, and freight movements Collect and analyze data related to transportation performance, costs, and delivery timelines using SQL, Tableau, and other data analysis tools Support procurement activities by sourcing carriers, negotiating rates, and managing vendor relationships to optimize freight costs Coordinate with warehouse teams on shipping & receiving schedules, inventory control, and materials handling procedures Conduct root cause analysis on transportation delays or issues to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions Assist with demand planning, freight pricing strategies, and category management to maximize profit & loss outcomes Quote clients and carriers Experience Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics coordination, or warehouse distribution roles Strong knowledge of transportation planning, freight management (including NVOCC), and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers Familiarity with procurement processes, vendor management, contracts negotiation, and sourcing strategies Proficiency in data collection tools such as SQL and analysis skills using Tableau or similar BI tools for supply chain analytics Ability to perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot issues related to transportation delays Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multiple stakeholders across the supply chain ecosystem Join our team to play a vital role in optimizing our drayage operations!
