Job Description
Job Overview Venture Steel is seeking a experienced Traffic Specialist for our facility in Detroit! The Traffic Specialist is responsible for effectively coordinating day-to-day logistics operations for the organization including preparing initial documentation regarding planning stages. Responsibilities Schedules and organized freight for both inbound and outbound loads Prepares U.S and Canadian Customs Documentation Provides administrative duties including answering phones, filing, etc. Coordinates with outside transportation companies Communicates and coordinates with Customers Shipping/REceiving departments Aids in maintaining logistives planning tasks Reviews and analyzes program effectiveness, suggests and executes on time improvements and corrective actions Coordinates accountability of property and issues maintenance establishes and updates regular work priorities and fulfills routine tasking by supervisor Coordinates with Traffic Manager and co-workers to assure systems are upgraded and outcomes are accurate and current Experience Preferred 5+ years experience in a similar role within the Steel Industry Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a hands on logistics role Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain management preferred but not required Proven warehouse experience with a strong understanding of shipping & receiving operations Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments accurately
