Planner II The City of Greenville seeks a Planner II for Urban Planning and Development to support land use, zoning, and long-range planning for a vibrant, growing community. This role reviews development proposals, conducts research and GIS analysis, prepares staff reports, and presents to boards and commissions. The Planner II collaborates across departments, engages residents and stakeholders, and helps implement plans and policies that improve quality of life, support economic development, and promote thoughtful, sustainable growth in a civic-minded, professional environment. Review and analyze development and zoning applications for compliance with city codes and plans Prepare staff reports, maps, and presentations for boards, commissions, and City Council Conduct research, data collection, and GIS analysis to support planning initiatives Assist with long-range and neighborhood planning projects and policy updates Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders on planning and development issues Participate in public meetings, workshops, and hearings to present plans and gather input Provide planning and zoning information to residents, businesses, and developers Monitor and help implement comprehensive plan and area plan recommendations Support initiatives that promote sustainable, equitable, and economically sound development Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation for planning activities Urban planning Zoning analysis Site plan review GIS mapping Data analysis Technical report writing Public meeting facilitation Land use regulation Project management Stakeholder communication Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k AICP certification preferred or obtained within 2-3 years Valid driver's license Experience with municipal planning or development review
