Albany, NY Job Details $50.48 - $57.69 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Staff supervision Management Transportation planning (urban planning) Full Job Description Description This position performs as a fully competent professional and Project Manager in all aspects of the subject matter of assignments. Develops and evaluates plans for various assignments including tasks done by others. Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposal preparation. Performs and manages complex, sensitive professional planning and/or design projects, research and analysis, strategy and/or concept development, oversees specialized planning functions.
Typical projects:
long range, regional, and multi-modal transportation planning studies, and corridor studies and/or planning and initial design for transportation improvements for specific segments or intersection projects. Is expected to manage clients, track project budgets, engage in business development, and professional networking. Often requires effort outside normal business hours to meet client requests and/or attend meetings. Essential Functions Responsible for Project Management and the day-to-day client relations on individual projects. Develop and grow client relationships and partnerships. Responsible for the day-to-day staffing and project scheduling. Manage or assist on complex planning studies and proposals. Develop and oversee transportation plans, studies and analysis that lead to strategies or projects. Act as concurrent project manager of many basic projects, a few intermediate projects, and one or two complex projects. Review complete project documents and QA/QC. Assist senior management and staff as planning specialist and advisor. Represent the organization in communications and conferences. Train and provide technical guidance to Planners I, II, and III. Lead project/public meetings on complex projects. Responsible for QA/QC. Attend proposal interviews. Prepare bills for projects. Additional Responsibilities Identifies, organizes and leads community service programs Functional manager to staff Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations Adept with citizen involvement techniques and processes Perform other duties as assigned. Job Prerequisites 10 years of experience, including 3 to 4 years supervisory. AICP Certification is required or Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure. Active member of a professional practice organization. Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of transportation planning.
Pay Range:
$50.48-$57.69/hour
