Full Job Description Salary:
$52,000•60,000. Starting salary is determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's qualifications, and internal equity. Generally, new hires can expect pay at or near the beginning of the range.

About the Organization Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC) invests in Asian American and low-income communities by creating and preserving affordable and vibrant neighborhoods in Chinatown and Greater Boston. Position Summary ACDC is seeking a Community Building Associate to lead the organization's community engagement and organizing efforts in Quincy and Malden. In this role, the Associate will facilitate resident leadership programming and engage ACDC's building residents in the two geographies. The ideal candidate is strategic, relational, and passionate about turning community engagement into long-term policy and affordable housing development wins. In this new role, the Associate will work with the Director of Community Design & Planning to shape ACDC's emerging programmatic strategy in Quincy and Malden. As the role evolves, the balance between Quincy and Malden may shift based on community needs and ACDC's priorities.
Roles & Responsibilities Organizing:
Plan and facilitate annual adult resident leadership cohorts in Quincy and/or Malden, with the aim of democratizing advocacy and political voice for low-income and Asian American residents. Build and maintain strong relationships with community residents, civic leaders, and local stakeholders in Quincy and Malden. Attend relevant local meetings in Quincy and Malden.
Community Building:
Plan and execute annual schedule of community building socials and workshops at ACDC buildings in Quincy and Malden in coordination with property management, resident leaders, and volunteers. Communicate with ACDC residents in Quincy and Malden to promote ACDC opportunities (e.g., placekeeping projects, youth programs, and financial counseling).
Strategy:
Work with the Director of Community Design & Planning to shape the portfolio and strategy for this new role, with an initial focus on the expansion of ACDC's programmatic work in Quincy. Collaborate across departments to identify policy, planning, affordable housing, and placekeeping goals for Quincy and Malden. Share insights into Quincy and Malden's social and political landscape with ACDC staff.
Administration:
Track expenses and budget for programs in Quincy and Malden. Track and evaluate community engagement outcomes in Quincy and Malden. Maintain accurate records and produce timely written and verbal reports. Supervise interns and volunteers on relevant projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Experience with facilitation and interest in popular education Experience with community engagement, urban planning, and/or policy advocacy Ability to build collaborative relationships with a wide range of community members, leaders, and stakeholders and navigate diverse viewpoints and interests Strong written and verbal communication skills and emotional intelligence Strong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and adaptability Familiarity with or willingness to learn Microsoft Office Suite and Asana Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including availability during some evenings/weekends
Preferred:
Some Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Taishanese language skills
Preferred:
Strong connection to Quincy or Malden (e.g., current/former residency, local network), with interest in local community advocacy, organizing, or placekeeping efforts Benefits Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and flexible spending account.
Paid time off:
15 vacation days per year, increased to 20 days after 3 years of service. 13 holidays plus the week between Christmas and New Year's, 6 sick days, and 2 personal days per year. 3% Employer contribution with 1% additional match in 401k for eligible employees.
