Job Description

This is a unique and exciting role that allows the right candidate to use their deep understanding of federal budgeting and planning processes to help build our next generation planning application.?We are looking for an energetic and creative government budget specialist to take our solution to the next level and drive value for our federal customers.?You will be working alongside a talented team of designers and developers to build and enhance our best-in-class solution. This is a full-time position on a multi-year contract that will allow for 100% remote work.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The mission of the client delivery team at SMX is to create and deploy innovative products to our federal customers. The CFO Control Tower Budget and Spend solution (BAS) is a pre-built planning and reporting solution for the federal government that runs on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of government financial processes and a track record of continually improving processes. Work with UX designers to design and enhance existing budgeting and planning functionality.? This includes designing useful dashboards, input forms, reports, and workflows.? Clearly explain proposed functionality using visual aids like mockups and process flow diagrams (Designers will assist with the aesthetics) Explain government processes to employees with no government experience. Conduct business process analysis. Work with key stakeholders to prioritize and manage the BAS Roadmap needs. Connect with customers and help take a lead role during customer demonstrations.
Responsibilities:
Gathering of requirements and working with the implementation team to deploy the BAS solution (Requirements, design, testing, etc.) Clearly explain proposed functionality using visual aids like mockups and process flow diagrams (Designers will assist with the aesthetics) Manage software releases, ensuring the application is fully tested and documented. Develop test plans, test scenarios/cases, and manage testing execution Create documentation as needed (e.g., admin documentation, end-user documentation, training guides, online help, etc.). Required Skills & Experience 5+ years working with Government budgets and spend plans Deep understanding of government financial processes (e.g. Budget Formulation, Spend Plans, Position Planning, Budget Execution, Working Capital Funds, Reimbursable Agreements) Excellent organizational skills Excellent presentation skills Curiosity and desire to learn Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Technically savvy (No need to be a coder, just good with technology in general) Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one Desired Skills & Experience Experience deploying a financial planning and/or Business Intelligence application Experience with an off the shelf planning tool (e.g. SAP BPC, SAC, OneStream, Oracle, Hyperion, Anaplan, etc.) or a custom-built solution Experience with an off the shelf BI/Reporting tool (e.g. SAP SAC, PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) SQL Skills Experience testing applications # LI-SA1 The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
