Job Description

Upper Cumberland Development District has an opening for a Transportation Planner . The Transportation Planner will act as a liaison between local elected officials and the Tennessee Department of Transportation and will assist local governments in all aspects of transportation planning.
Duties include:
Develop and maintain reports and studies to coordinate transportation planning efforts Communicate on a regular basis with communities, stakeholders, and partners Serve as a central point for receiving and providing input on multi-modal needs for RPO Serve as a clearing house for information and data gathered Create and maintain a database of RPO members, stakeholders, and interested parties Publicize and facilitate regular and special meetings of the Technical Committee and Executive Board Provide technical assistance and administration for transportation-related grant programs
Qualifications:
Possess good oral and written communication skills with basic knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and number style Ability to read and follow written and verbal directions Ability to work both independently and as a team member Experience working with state/federal government programs The successful applicant will possess a bachelor's degree.
