Full Job Description Overview:

Position Summary:
The Lease Analyst assists in the maintenance of the company's lease and land records and tracks obligations thereunder, while providing support to other members of the Land team on various projects as they arise.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Analyzes, establishes, and maintains leases and other land records on the company's LandWorks system to ensure accurate and timely payment of rentals, renewals, minimum royalties, shut-ins, and other periodic payments Reviews documents affecting mineral and surface estate ownership, prepares and/or obtains necessary supporting documentation, and updates LandWorks system as needed Prepares leases and other land records to be turned over to the administrative assistant for filing Audits all rentals, renewals, minimum royalties, shut-ins, and other periodic payments against LandWorks system and management recommendations Tracks time sensitive obligations in land records, such as termination provisions and expiring acreage Coordinates with in-house landmen on interpretation of areas of mutual interest, farm-in/out agreements, and other agreements to ensure proper partner contributions on payments and other obligations Works closely with the GIS analyst to provide acreage and depth data Respond to lessors' and other counterparties' inquiries, as needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
Good understanding of the different types of mineral interests (WI/MI/RI/ORRI, etc.) Familiarity with title opinions Good understanding of all types of instruments affecting minerals and surface land ownership, including leases, assignments, farmout agreements, easements, and rights-of-way Ability to trace (and supplement) chain of title ownership Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with very strong working knowledge of Excel Good understanding of lease and easement provisions Detail-oriented Strong critical thinking and verbal/written communication skills
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree Two (2) or more years of land and title experience
