Reports to the Director of Transportation Planning and Development, Deputy District Engineer, District Engineer. Manages a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees engaged in transportation planning activities. Work requires contact with governmental officials and the public. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.
Essential Duties:
Oversees data collection, analyses, forecasts and plan development.

Oversees district participation in development, coordination and implementation of the Unified Transportation Program, the State Transportation Plan and action plans for specific projects.

Oversees long-range and short-range transportation planning and coordinates with Regional Mobility Authorities/Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) to develop the annual Transportation Improvement Program and Metropolitan Transportation Plans.

Represents the district at various meetings and public hearings.

Serves as liaison with local officials and the public concerning proposed project development and planning.

Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
