JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Planner III is responsible for current permitting activities. Supervises and mentor's junior planners, reviews and prepares written responses on complex or inter-jurisdictional development applications. For conformance with tribal, federal, state, and county laws, oversees Permit Review Committee and assists with Planning Commission activities and meetings. Assists with long-range planning including updates to the comprehensive land use plan and codes, reviews and comments on changes to other jurisdiction's plans or regulations. Represents the Tribes on regional planning committees as assigned and participates in or coordinates other projects and initiatives as directed.
COMPENSATION
$33.27 MINIMUM
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree in Planning or related field. Masters Degree in related field preferred.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of experience in current planning, working with land use, zoning, building permits, subdivision review, and environmental regulatory compliance. Two (2) years of experience working with multiple planning specializations, including comprehensive planning, land use code amendments, subdivision review, transportation planning, smart growth strategies, and critical areas/shoreline management planning. One (1) year of supervisory experience. One (1) year of experience working in Indian County preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES WA
State Driver's License. (Personal Auto Insurance) Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations. (Abstract Required) Must pass an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing the job. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
