  • Full-time IntelliSchool is hiring a full-time High School Counselor for our Metro Center campus .
We are a small alternative charter high school serving students across multiple daily sessions in a quiet, flexible, high-support learning environment. Our students often come to us because they need something different from a traditional high school setting: a smaller campus, more personal support, flexible scheduling, and a team that helps them stay focused on graduation. This is not a traditional office-only counseling position. The counselor is an active member of the campus team and plays a visible role in student support, campus culture, academic persistence, and daily floor management. Position Overview The High School Counselor will work closely with campus leadership, teachers, and support staff to help students stay engaged, make academic progress, and work toward graduation. The counselor will provide regular student check-ins, support academic and social-emotional needs, communicate with families, and help maintain a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment. Because our campus serves students across morning, afternoon, and evening sessions, this position requires two closing shifts per week (11am-7pm) . Closing shifts are an important part of the role and help ensure evening-session students receive consistent access to counseling and support. Required Qualifications Active Arizona counselor credential, license, or certificate Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Experience supporting high school students or adolescents Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills Ability to build positive relationships with students who may have struggled in traditional school settings Willingness and ability to work two closing shifts per week Willingness to actively support students on the floor, not only from an office setting Preferred Qualifications Arizona PreK-12 Guidance Counselor Certificate Experience in alternative education, charter schools, dropout prevention, credit recovery, or student re-engagement Experience working with students with disabilities Bilingual English/Spanish Substitute certificate or additional instructional qualifications Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance available Arizona State Retirement System participation Paid time off School-based holidays and breaks Summer break Tuition reimbursement Professional development assistance Performance bonus opportunities Key Responsibilities Provide counseling, guidance, and student support services in a small alternative high school setting Monitor student progress and help students stay focused on individual graduation plans Conduct regular student check-ins related to attendance, engagement, academic progress, and personal barriers Teach and reinforce coping strategies, motivation, goal setting, and self-advocacy skills Collaborate with teachers and campus staff to support students throughout the school day Assist with floor management, student engagement, and maintaining a calm, respectful learning environment Communicate with parents/guardians, staff, and outside supports when appropriate Participate in student support planning, interventions, and follow-up Support students with diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs Maintain required documentation and follow school policies, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards We are looking for someone who is: Student-centered and relationship-driven Calm, consistent, and supportive Comfortable working as part of a close campus team Flexible and solution-oriented Committed to helping students who need a different path to graduation Willing to be visible, active, and engaged with students throughout the day You may submit your documentation using the Indeed apply now feature or email humanresources@resolutions-esp.com
