At CHSC GES, every student deserves a consistent and caring adult who actively supports their success and helps them navigate challenges. The Interventionist plays a key role in that vision by leading efforts to improve student attendance, engagement, and re-engagement. This role works directly with a caseload of 9-12th grade and GED students to identify barriers to school participation and partner with students, families, and staff to overcome them. This is a relational, equity-driven position that blends systems thinking with human connection. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solution-oriented, and deeply committed to walking alongside students who may be facing multiple systemic challenges.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Attendance, Re-Engagement & Dropout Prevention Serve as the primary intervention support point person for a caseload of students, tracking their attendance, engagement, and academic performance regularly. Conduct root cause analyses to determine barriers to attendance and identify student-centered solutions. Lead tiered outreach and re-engagement efforts for students with chronic absenteeism, truancy, or who have disengaged from school. Conduct proactive home visits, family meetings, and phone/text check-ins to maintain strong communication with caregivers. Collaborate with students and families to co-create attendance improvement and academic re-entry plans. Team Collaboration & Intervention Support Actively participate in the Intervention Team and Student Success Team (SST) to identify, design, and monitor student supports. Coordinate with advisors, counselors, and teachers to ensure aligned and consistent support for shared students. Support behavior, mental health, and academic interventions when they are connected to disengagement, in coordination with other team members. Help integrate attendance support into Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), ensuring appropriate interventions at every level. Data Monitoring & Caseload Management Progress monitor attendance and engagement data across your caseload and adjust interventions accordingly. Maintain clear records of communication, intervention plans, and outcomes in student support systems (e.g., Infinite Campus, SST logs). Use schoolwide data to help identify trends and contribute to system-level planning and improvement. Family & Community Engagement Lead or support family engagement events that build trust, celebrate progress, and reinforce the importance of school attendance. Help connect families with relevant community-based services and resources that support school re-engagement and student wellness. Help organize attendance-focused campaigns, advisory content, or student recognition aligned to schoolwide goals. School Culture Collaborate with the SST Team to plan and facilitate assemblies, family nights, community meetings, and other events to build an inclusive, positive school culture. Build relationships with students and families that foster wellbeing and sense of belonging, while maintaining appropriate and professional boundaries. Model CHSC's core values and foster them within the school. Transitions & Enrollment Support Collaborate with DPS and district transition officers to support student entry and re-entry, particularly for students returning from out-of-school placements. Participate on the Enrollment Team to support registration, recruitment, and enrollment efforts throughout the school year. Assist with enrollment and onboarding of new students, ensuring smooth transitions into the CHSC community. Support the October Count effort to ensure attendance is recorded and per pupil revenue (PPR) is secured for all eligible students. Operations & Supervision Assist with setting up, serving, and closing up breakfast and lunch service for students. Monitor halls and campus during designated supervision shifts to ensure student safety. Serve as a proctor and hall monitor for testing throughout the school year, including P/SAT, MAP, and course final assessments. Develop, document, and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for core job responsibilities to ensure processes are clearly defined, current, and readily accessible, supporting consistency, efficiency, and continuity of operations. Other duties as assigned by the School Leadership TeamREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with youth in secondary education, counseling, social work, or a related field Strong relationship-building and communication skills with both students and families Highly organized with strong follow-through, time management, and documentation practices Commitment to educational equity and culturally responsive practice Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team Comfort conducting home visits and working flexible hours (some evening/weekend events required)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Spanish/English bilingual Familiarity with Infinite Campus or similar student information systems Experience supporting attendance, re-engagement, or dropout prevention in an alternative or urban education settingCOMPENSATION
