We aim to support and guide the healing process through a range of theoretical orientations and therapeutic interventions with the primary outcomes of awareness, empowerment, grounding, and growth. Our practice serves children, adolescents, adults, families, and the LGBT+ community. Onyx Therapy Group is looking for a School Based Counselor to work on-site in Washington, DC 20 hours per week. This is a contract for School year 2023-2024. September 2023-June 2024 with the option to extend. Ideal Candidate Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Counseling Psychology (Required) LPC, LCSW, or LGPC preferred Responsibilities Develop an effective counseling program and provide instruction in the program to students, teachers, and parents. Create a safe school environment to improve students' social and emotional well-being. Advocate for the needs of all students. Review school-based systems that are related to counseling. Develop plans for improving student learning and social and emotional wellness. Review student records and evaluate a student's records for strengths, needs, and areas for improvement. Work as part of a team. Work directly with Onyx Clinical Directors/Staff Must attend weekly clinical supervision with Onyx Directors.
