This position will support students' social-emotional development through mindfulness instruction, individual student support, parent communication, and classroom observations. The role includes teaching a weekly mindfulness class for PreK-5th grade students, providing individual support sessions with students with parent permission, supporting families as needed, and observing students in classroom settings to help identify strategies that promote student success. The ideal candidate has a background in psychology, enjoys working with children, communicates well with families and staff, and is passionate about supporting students' emotional well-being in a school environment. Responsibilities Teach a weekly mindfulness class for PreK-5th grade students Provide individual student support sessions with parent permission/parent sign-off Support students' social-emotional development in a school setting Conduct student and classroom observations as needed Communicate professionally with parents regarding student support, as appropriate Collaborate with teachers, administration, and families to support student needs Help identify strategies to support student behavior, emotional regulation, and classroom success Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding student and family information Document student support notes, observations, and parent communication as required Promote a positive, respectful, and supportive school environment Follow all school policies, procedures, and child safety expectations Perform other related duties as assigned by administration Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology required Experience working with children required Experience in a school, preschool, childcare, counseling, psychology, behavioral support, or student support setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work professionally with students, parents, teachers, and administration Strong understanding of child development, emotional regulation, and student support strategies Comfortable leading mindfulness-based activities with young students Organized, dependable, compassionate, and professional Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information appropriately Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required Safeguarding Statement Key Point Academy is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students.
