401(k) Competitive salary Free food & snacks Health insurance Opportunity for advancement Paid time off Parental leave Training & development Tuition assistance Vision insurance Wellness resources Academic Support Coach Full-time, 10-month Position Reports to: Assistant Head of School for Academic Affairs Position Summary The Academic Support Coach serves as a primary resource for upper school students requiring additional academic intervention and organizational guidance. This role provides educational support and resources to ensure students achieve academic excellence while maintaining a Christ-centered environment. The Coach works collaboratively with teachers and administrators to ensure student success remains aligned with the school's mission and educational philosophy. Spiritual Leadership and Vision Model a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and demonstrate Christian character in all interactions with students, families, and staff. Foster a Christ-centered community by integrating prayer and biblical encouragement into coaching sessions. Academic Support and Coaching Develop, implement, and provide daily oversight of individualized academic action plans for students with diverse learning needs. Provide resources for tracking student progress, documenting learning growth, and maintaining academic portfolios. Offer \"just-in-time\" support by pushing into classrooms during the school day to assist students with documented learning needs. Lead structured after-school coaching sessions focusing on homework completion, test preparation, and study habits. Support students in developing executive functioning skills, including time management, note-taking, and organization. Testing Guidance and Assessment Work with Student Services team and administration to assess student progress through objective outcomes and feedback to determine the effectiveness of support strategies. Coordinate academic assessments and interpret scores to provide guidance on tutoring needs or retake decisions. Monitor testing accommodations for students with documented learning needs in collaboration with the student services team. Assist the College and Career Office with postsecondary educational plans for students Family Communication and Collaboration Build strong, supportive relationships with parents/guardians as partners in their child's academic journey. Communicate regularly with families through individual conferences and emails regarding student progress and interventions. Address family questions and concerns regarding academic struggles in a timely and professional manner. Collaborate with the director of college and career and teachers to ensure consistency in student support documentation and academic rosters.Qualifications Required:
A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and ability to articulate and model a Biblical worldview. Agreement with the school's statement of faith Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build trust with families and staff. Proficiency with educational technology and student management systems.Preferred:
Master's degree in Education or related field. Background in student support services Training in specialized learning interventions Essential Characteristics Passion for supporting students in achieving Christ-centered academic excellence. Ability to balance structure and flexibility to meet diverse student needs. Patient, encouraging demeanor with students navigating academic challenges. High level of organization and extreme attention to detail.
