An Academic or Guidance Counselor provides guidance to students in elementary, middle and high schools to help them succeed academically and socially. Works with school teachers and administrators to address problems that affect student performance, and identifies resources for students and families. Helps high school students to plan academic course work and advises on the college search and application process.

Job Description
Trio Upward Bound is a federally funded program that provides services designed to improve academic, career, and personal skills to prepare first-generation (neither parent has a four year degree) and low-income high school students to be successful in high school and college. The services are offered during the academic year and the summer. The academic year component consists of after school tutoring and a Saturday Academic Academy. Students will be tutored and take classes and workshops in math, science, English, college/career planning and social development.
