Guidance Counselor - Chestnut Street Academy 2026-2027 Amherst Pelham Regional School District - 3.0 Amherst, MA Job Details Full-time $30,781 - $55,274 a year 22 hours ago Qualifications Working with students Special education student support Social-emotional learning (SEL) programs Full Job Description The Amherst Public School District is seeking a part-time (60%) highly qualified candidate for the position of Guidance Counselor for Chestnut Street Academy. Chestnut Street Academy approximate population is 140 sixth (6th) grade students. A successful candidate will be enthusiastic, committed to education, and willingly collaborate to meet diverse student needs. The counselor will have the following roles and responsibilities including but not limited to: Provide group and individual counseling services Design and deliver tiered supports and interventions Meet regularly with grade-level teams Tier 1 & 2 interventions Ongoing development and implementation of school-wide bullying prevention and intervention Provide classroom-based support and interventions to students Deliver classroom-based lessons to promote a positive school and class climate Collaborate and consult with school personnel on topics related to social/emotional learning and mental health issues Work with the Assistant Principal / Principal as part of the school leadership team Provide crisis intervention when needed Collect and analyze data from the district's programs

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Assume responsibility role for the Behavioral Health Team (CST) Participate in the School Climate/PBIS Team Active engagement in school climate/equity work Attend scheduled staff meetings Assume any additional responsibilities as directed by the Assistant Principal/Principal Attend district-wide mental health team meetings and trainings Self-harm and threat assessment screenings, as indicated Participate in ongoing classroom meetings to address the climate and classroom issues Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

Master's Degree or above in Guidance or School Counseling. Background working with children with social, emotional and behavior needs MA ESE School Adjustment Counselor, Guidance Counselor, or School Psychologist certification or eligible for one year waiver Bilingual and multicultural candidates are encouraged to apply
