The College also operates a campus in Canton, a satellite location in Middleborough, and serves students from more than 45 cities and towns across Southeastern Massachusetts.Job Description:
Massasoit is seeking to hire a pool of part-time academic counselors to support New Student Advising & Registration Sessions (STARS) during the college's peak enrollment periods (July, August, early September, and January).Responsibilities and Duties:
Advises students in course registration, adding, or withdrawing from courses during New Student Advising and Registration Sessions. Utilize advising tools such as Degree Works, Banner, Academic MAPS, and Navigate. Maintain general knowledge of Massasoit policy and procedures. Make appropriate on or off-campus referrals as needed. Attend semesterly Advising and Registration trainings, and other professional development meetings.THIS POOL IS VALID THROUGH JUNE 30, 2026. APPLICANTS WISHING TO REMAIN IN THE POOL MUST REAPPLY AND UPDATE THEIR INFORMATION THEREAFTER.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or closely related field; Knowledge of online database systems, including Banner, and Degree Works. Knowledge of current trends in how academic advising and career exploration are related. Prior experience in working with diverse or adult students needed. Strong interpersonal, organizational skills, and decision-making ability. Must exhibit training, sensitivity and commitment to the needs of youth and adults from disadvantaged backgrounds.Additional Information:
