School Adjustment Counselor 2026-2027 School Year We are seeking a compassionate, student centered School Adjustment Counselor to join our team. This position plays a vital role in promoting students' emotional, social, and academic success by providing counseling/social services and collaborating with families, educators, and community agencies. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator with a strong understanding of child development and a commitment to supporting the whole child. CALM-trained or willing to obtain CALM certification Ability to create, manage, and adjust staff schedules, including coverage planning during staff absences Skilled in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques Facilitate and lead therapeutic social skills groups for students Proficient in implementing coping strategies and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) Collect and analyze behavioral data to support the development and evaluation of BIPs Collaborate effectively with both general education and special education teachers to support student success Communicate and collaborate with caregivers to support student well-being and progress Coordinate with outside agencies and community resources to provide comprehensive support services for students
Qualifications:
Master's degree (preferred) in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field Valid Massachusetts DESE certification as a School Adjustment Counselor. Demonstrated knowledge of child development and its impact on learning. Legal authorization to work in the United States (citizenship, residency, or valid work visa) Salary commensurate with related experience.
