Job Description

Immediate opening for School Adjustment Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of authorized administrators shall: Counsel, test and assist in developing programmatic alternatives for students with serious adjustment problems. Work cooperatively with all staff related to the programs for these identified students. Establish positive relationships with the home. Serve as a referral agent to obtain outside assistance when needed. Be involved in developing behavioral objectives for IEP's. Attend case conferences on students if required. Attend case conferences on students if required. Maintain pertinent records on all referred students. Have periodic meetings with teachers to follow up on program recommendations. Work on potential referrals for student assistance program when needed. Participate in 504 team meetings. Development of behavioral plans. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools.
REPORTS TO
Building PrincipalSalary and terms of employment will be commensurate with the Westfield Public Schools Unit A contract. Salary placement will be based on information contained in the application as submitted.

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation. This position subject to grant funding.
