To apply, please email a letter of interest and resume to . No phone calls, please. Job Description The Washington Waldorf School is seeking a part-time School Counselor, effective immediately. The Counselor will work with students, faculty, and parents at the School to support students' well-being and a successful school experience, through the following: Work with students, parents, and faculty to assess issues affecting students' wellbeing and success in school Recommend short-term, solution-focused courses of action to faculty and parents to address students' behavioral, emotional, and social challenges and support students' wellbeing Refer parents/students to outside professionals when appropriate Be a liaison between outside support professionals and the School Report cases of bullying, harassment, abuse, discrimination, or self harm, in accordance with School policies and legal requirements Respond to faculty and parent questions and concerns Support school-wide social health initiatives as requested Attend full faculty meetings, the Educational Support committee meeting and other meetings as invited The Counselor reports to the Faculty Administrator. Requirements for the position include an advanced degree in school counseling, social work, clinical psychology, or a related field, licensure as a school counselor in the State of Maryland (maybe), experience as a social worker or school counselor working with students, parents, and faculty, and a solid understanding of child development. Waldorf experience is a plus, but all interested candidates are encouraged to apply. This is an hourly position for 10-15 hours per week
