178 days, 5 hrs. a day, M-F, 6-8:00 am and 3- 6 PM

Salary:

$ 14.00/hr.

Summary:

Assists in supervision of students attending the Latchkey program.

Qualifications:

High school diploma required; first aid and CPR certification preferred, but must be able to certify upon hire.

Clear criminal history checks and DHS clearance required; able to achieve qualifications to meet licensing requirements.

Ability to develop and maintain a professional rapport with children, parents, staff, and the community.

Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Aids and supports children in the latchkey program while providing a safe, friendly environment; flexible in responding to the individual needs of children.
  • Follow through with prescribed behavioral management plans and district discipline policies; helps to maintain the organized setting of the child care center.
  • Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and board of education policies while modeling district standards of ethics and professionalism; implement policy/procedural changes from administration, the board of education, or state/federal changes.
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of this position, which includes sitting, standing, talking, seeing, and hearing. Occasionally, it will be expected to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motions many times and push or lift up to 50 lbs., such as boxes of books.
  • Follow all licensing requirements, including sixteen (16) hours of approved professional development.
