Long Term Substitute - School Counselor Monticello Middle School Full time / Temporary position (1.0 FTE) Position available December 15, 2026 through June 4, 2027
Job Summary:
Monticello Middle School is seeking a long term sub to support the students and operations of the middle school. The School Counselor provides direct and indirect services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.
Licensure:
Current School Counselor license with the
Minnesota Department of Education Experience:
Experience in school counseling preferred Experience working with middle school age students Experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred
Essential Skills Required:
Awareness of best practices for student counseling/procedures Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to demonstrate professionalism and ethical practices Maintain confidentiality of information about students and families Experience working with diverse students and families Assist with supervision of students during non-academic education activities
