As a School Counselor with Special School District (SSD), you will help students discover their strengths, navigate challenges, and prepare for what's next. You will build meaningful relationships with students and families while partnering with educators to ensure each student has the guidance, encouragement, and support needed to reach their goals. Whether helping a student plan for graduation, explore future career opportunities, or work through personal and social challenges, you will play a trusted role during some of the most important moments in their educational journey. Your work will help students gain confidence in themselves, prepare for life beyond school, and excel to their greatest potential. Education and Experience Master's degree in guidance and counseling required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Missouri Department of Education Guidance Certification required Salary $55,635 - $83,250/year based on education and experience Calendar 10-month school year (August to June), exact dates dependent on assigned location(s) Benefits Group benefit plans for medical, vision, dental, and life insurance Enrollment in Missouri Public School Retirement Systems Paid holidays 13 PTO days per year Employee assistance program Healthcare spending account Special School District serves nearly 25,000 students and employs over 5,700 staff in St. Louis County.
