Noble Academy is an independent, college prep 2-12 school in Greensboro, NC that serves students with learning differences and ADHD. As a supporting member of the counseling department, this individual will contribute to our comprehensive counseling program with a focus on the college entrance exam process, eligibility, accommodations, evaluation, and coordination with outside providers. The primary responsibilities will be to work collaboratively with the counselor, faculty, administration, parents, and other professionals to provide support to the school counselor as well as academic administrators in order to effectively help our students qualify for accommodations and achieve success. Given the sensitive nature of student records and family communications, this role requires a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Tasks include, but are not limited to: Submitting accommodation requests to testing agencies Appealing when requests for accommodations are denied Registering, scheduling,and proctoring standardized exams Maintaining student files Helping create and update student Academic Profiles Attend relevant meetings with parents and public schools from which students transfer, virtually or in person
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in special education, psychology, social work, human services, or related field required; Master's Degree preferred. 3-5 years working in the special education, school counseling, social work, or mental health fields The ideal candidate will have: an understanding of how to read and interpret IEPs, psychological evaluations, and other educational testing strong organizational and time management skills experience working with students with learning differences good relationship-building skills with students, parents, and colleagues excellent oral and written communication skills mastery of technology skills (such as using the Google software suite, scanning documents, file management, creating PDFs, and using a Student Information System) ability to be flexible and innovative
