Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide classroom support in partnership with teachers to reinforce instruction Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Mentor students to build social-emotional skills and positive relationships Monitor and track student progress and engagement data Assist with planning and leading school-based enrichment or after-school activities Help create an inclusive, safe, and supportive classroom environment Collaborate with fellow AmeriCorps members and school staff as part of a service team Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and leadership development sessions Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding student needs and progress Support schoolwide events and initiatives that promote student success Tutoring and academic support in core subjects Youth mentoring and relationship-building Classroom management support Data tracking and basic progress monitoring Written and verbal communication Team collaboration in school settings Basic conflict resolution and de-escalation Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Time management and reliability in a structured schedule Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member Ability to pass background checks required for school-based service Proof of work authorization in the U.S.
