Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class support to students in core academic subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring and mentoring Build positive relationships with students to support engagement and attendance Support students' social-emotional skill development Collaborate with teachers and school staff on student support plans Track and report student progress and participation data Assist with classroom management and learning activities Help plan and lead after-school and enrichment programs Engage families and community partners through school events Participate in ongoing City Year training, reflection, and leadership development Tutoring in core academic subjects (e.g., math, ELA) Classroom support and management Student mentoring and youth engagement Data tracking and basic progress monitoring Communication with teachers and school staff Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Basic conflict resolution and de-escalation Time management and organization Facilitation of small groups and activities Basic computer skills (email, documents, spreadsheets) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to full-time service term (typically 10-11 months)
