The Student Success Coordinator is responsible for assisting students in overcoming challenges, developing effective study skills, and navigating the academic environment to ensure a successful educational journey. Duties and Responsibilities Primary job duties and responsibilities: Agrees with and commits to the academic goals and philosophy of the company. Understands, abides by, and implements the policies, directives and guidelines set forth by the management company. Interprets Academic best-practices and implements them within the school. Persuades and motivates parents to become involved in effective activities that increase student achievement and encourage students to stay in school. Collaborates with administrators and faculty on matters relating to individual academic advancement and recovery. Works with students on an individual basis to facilitate personal and academic growth. Guides students in their participation in school and community activities. Works as a team member to develop academic prevention/intervention strategies. Gathers and reviews academic data to identify students who are not progressing. Assesses students with academic concerns and meets with students and related stakeholders to seek a remedy. Collaborates with school staff to develop interventions for students who are not meeting academic expectations and develops individualized plans to improve productivity. Assists with implementing academic intervention programs and develops strategies to facilitate academic success. Maintains necessary records ensuring confidentiality of students and their families and prepares related reports. Maintains confidentiality concerning all student information and any professional matters. Participates in all committees and team meetings as required. Performs all other job duties as assigned. Qualifications, Education and Experience Necessary and desirable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following: Must have a passion for improving educational opportunities for urban students and for building a strong, mission-driven organization. Willingness to go above and beyond to support students in achieving academic goals. Commitment to continued personal and professional growth, and a commitment to the company's mission, vision, and growth. Passion for working with youth of various social, educational, and economic backgrounds and levels. Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills Effective organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks. Ability to work effectively with all stakeholders. Proficiency in the use of technology. Commitment to continued personal and professional growth.
Education Preferred:
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in education, counseling, student affairs, or a related field
Experience Preferred:
Experience in advising, counseling, or student support roles is a plus. Working Conditions This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
