Assist students in planning for their graduation by focusing on junior-level and online students. Plans for graduation by completing a midway academic audit and advising. Assist with online students in helping them determine the credits needed to complete their degree. Communicates with students and academic departments concerning academic and completion of degree related issues and assists in resolving academic problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs midway junior audits for undergraduate students, meets with and advises students concerning degree requirements and graduation planning. Responsible for executing communication to students related to degree evaluation plans. Communicates with students and academic departments on degree related issues and assists in resolving academic problems. Continually communicates with the Office of Student Success on issues. Provides guidance regarding the processing of Course Substitution and Waiver Requests. Prepares degree audit documents as requested by students or University academic or service departments (i.e. SAP audits). Tracks unsuccessful academic status in support of the college's strategic initiative to increase degree completion rates. Tracks online student persistence and assist in intervention strategies. Maintains thorough knowledge of federal and state laws and college policies and procedures regarding transfer credit, general education, prerequisites, and catalog years. Conducts and tracks undergraduate Academic Standing evaluations per the Probation/Suspension catalog policy. Reviews HPE progress for undergraduate residential students. Places HPE holds and communicates HPE needs to students with deficiencies. Processes the awarding of Certificates. Manages P.A.V.E. (Bridge) student contracts with endorsing and filing. Completes other tasks as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
Education:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree. Experience/Skills /
Abilities:
Related experience in a university setting preferred. Knowledge of Ellucian Banner software beneficial. Must have a basic working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Position requires accuracy of data entry, critical thinking, strong oral and written communication skills, ability to multi-task and strong interpersonal skills. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality of information. Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policy and its' procedures.
