Job Summary St. Clement of Rome Catholic School is seeking a compassionate and student-centered School Counselor to support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students. The School Counselor collaborates with students, parents, faculty, and administration to foster a safe, supportive, and faith-filled learning environment that promotes student success and well-being. Responsibilities Provide individual and small-group counseling to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the mission of the school. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside agencies to identify and address student needs. Assist students with conflict resolution, coping skills, decision-making, and personal growth. Support students during periods of crisis and provide appropriate referrals to community resources when needed. Monitor student progress and maintain confidential counseling records in accordance with school policies and professional standards. Consult with faculty and staff regarding strategies to support student success and well-being. Participate in student support meetings and assist with intervention planning. Promote a positive school climate that reflects Catholic values and respect for all individuals. Support and uphold the mission, philosophy, and Catholic identity of St. Clement of Rome Catholic School. Qualifications Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field required. Valid School Counselor certification or eligibility for certification preferred. Experience working with school-aged children in an educational setting preferred. Knowledge of child and adolescent development, counseling techniques, and student support services. Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment. Commitment to supporting students in a faith-based educational environment. Successful completion of all required background checks and diocesan Safe Environment requirements.
