Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Specialist to join our educational community. Duties Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on adolescent development, behavioral health, and social-emotional well-being Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, social workers, and parents to develop tailored support plans for students facing academic or behavioral challenges Offer guidance on classroom behavior management and conflict resolution strategies to promote a respectful and inclusive school climate Assist students with academic advising, including standardized testing preparation and educational planning aligned with school policies and regulations Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining compliance with legal standards related to student privacy and child protective services Support students' mental health needs through behavioral health interventions and culturally sensitive counseling approaches such as childhood development or Christian counseling when appropriate Facilitate communication with parents regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and available support resources Skills Strong knowledge of special education practices, behavioral management techniques, and educational compliance standards Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals Proficiency in conflict management and child welfare procedures to address sensitive situations confidently Experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and understanding adolescent development stages Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while adhering to school policies and legal requirements Skilled in individual and group guidance counseling methods tailored to student needs Familiarity with school legal knowledge, standardized testing procedures, and child protective services protocols Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive student support Background in social work or mental health counseling is highly desirable for addressing complex behavioral or emotional issues Join us in creating a nurturing environment where every student feels supported, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
