An Academic or Guidance Counselor provides guidance to students in elementary, middle and high schools to help them succeed academically and socially. Works with school teachers and administrators to address problems that affect student performance, and identifies resources for students and families. Helps high school students to plan academic course work and advises on the college search and application process.

Job Description
- arriving to campus and preparing for the day (getting supplies, snacks, and organizing the room)
- Receiving the students at dismissal in a calm and organized manor
- Taking attendance, passing out snacks and maintaining order in the room you are assigned
- Assisting with homework and enforcing room rules for the benefit of all students in the room
- Leading students through transitions
- Chaperoning students during their outside play time
- Assisting the Admin team in getting students inside when it is their time to go home
- Working well with co-counselors, students, and administration to ensure a positive and efficient environment in the program The ideal candidate for an after school counselor at Orange Grove is punctual, communicative, reliable, takes initiative, and works well with their co-counselors for the best outcome each day.
