This role serves as a central connection point among students, parents, faculty, tutors, and administration by maintaining consistent and effective communication between all stakeholders to ensure alignment, clarity, and ongoing support for student needs. The position also provides direct academic support and guidance for students with and without diagnosed learning differences. The Director maintains continuity and effectiveness within the Learning Lab program by addressing academic, organizational, social, and emotional learning needs and implementing strategies that support student growth and achievement. Responsibilities Conduct individual and small group sessions focused on organizational, executive functioning, and academic learning strategies for students with and without diagnosed learning differences Facilitate tutorials and study groups for students who need additional academic support. Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate contracted tutors and peer tutors. Maintain a vetted list of outside professional tutors available for student referral Initiate and maintain communications with students regarding learning strategies, academic goals, and progress. Schedule and oversee testing accommodations for students who do not receive resource support services. Familiarize oneself with the SBA curriculum, instructional expectations, and academic standards. Collaborate with faculty to monitor student progress through classroom observations, assessments, and initiate relevant academic support strategies. Recommend and coordinate referrals for professional evaluations when learning concerns are identified. Maintain organized and confidential electronic student records and documentation. Possess expertise in Data Management and Spreadsheets. Assist with institutional data collection, analysis and reporting to parents and faculty. Communicate learning support strategies and student needs appropriately with faculty and families. Stay informed on current research, trends, and best practices related to learning differences, executive functioning, and student support services.. Attend professional development workshops. Monitor student attendance at tutorials and support sessions before, during, and/or after school (7:30am to 4:30pm) Understanding the Mission and Vision of Silverdale Baptist Academy Has a full understanding and is in agreement with the Statement of Faith of Silverdale Baptist Academy and has a strong commitment to school philosophy. Candidates with a background in Math and/or Science are strongly preferred Minimum of 3 years experience teaching middle or high school Demonstrates experience supporting students with and without diagnosed learning differences in an upper school setting Strong understanding of instructional strategies, learning accommodations and executive functioning support. Ability to mentor and collaborate with teachers regarding targeted learning strategies and interventions Experience using technology and data systems for student tracking,data collection, and analysis Experience recruiting, training, and evaluating tutors or academic support personnel. Curious about curriculum, pedagogy and metacognition. Experience leading or supporting a tutoring program or learning center preferred Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Exhibit strong leadership, organizational, customer relationship and interpersonal skills. Physical Demands and Work Environment The position can be physically demanding.
