Job Description

Header Overview Join our dynamic educational team as a Guidance Counselor, where you will play a vital role in fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of students. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate academic, social, and emotional guidance to students, seamlessly integrating a Biblical worldview and Christian values into daily counseling practices. In this engaging position, you will provide personalized support, guidance, and counseling to help students navigate their educational journey and prepare for future success. Your expertise will help create a nurturing environment that promotes growth, resilience, and well-being for diverse student populations. Responsibilities Deliver individual and group counseling sessions focused on academic advising, behavioral health, mental health counseling, and childhood development. Assist students in developing effective conflict management and behavior management skills to foster positive classroom environments. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to identify student needs and tailor appropriate interventions. Collaborate with teachers, parents, child protective services, and social workers to support student welfare and address any behavioral or emotional challenges. Provide specialized guidance for students with special education needs and those requiring culturally sensitive counseling approaches. Support students' social-emotional growth through programs that promote mental health awareness, child welfare, and social skills development. Work with high school students on their program of study and graduation requirements. Advocate for student success by implementing classroom experience strategies and childhood development best practices that enhance learning outcomes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in school counseling, psychology, social work, or related field; a master's degree is preferred. Proven experience working with children and students in educational or counseling settings. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, staff, and community partners. Knowledge of behavioral health issues, mental health counseling techniques, and child protective services protocols. Familiarity with special education processes, standardized testing procedures, and classroom experience strategies. Ability to manage conflicts constructively while maintaining a positive environment for all students. Experience in cultural diversity counseling and childhood development is highly desirable. Pay:
$47,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
