Job Description

Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a school counselor, supporting student growth and well-being throughout the academic year. This role spans from August 12, 2025, to May 21, 2027, and offers a chance to positively influence elementary and middle school students across multiple campuses. You'll enjoy a consistent weekly schedule totaling 16 hours, engaging with a manageable caseload projected to include approximately 30 students spanning five different campuses. Ideal candidates bring a strong commitment to student advocacy, exceptional interpersonal communication skills, and an aptitude for guiding young learners' academic, emotional, and social development. Your responsibilities will include providing counseling services, collaborating with teachers and administrators, implementing intervention strategies, and supporting students' personal growth. To excel in this position, you should demonstrate: Active Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification in Texas Experience working in school settings, particularly with elementary and middle school age groups Compassionate listening skills and the ability to build trust with students, parents, and staff Effectiveness in developing and implementing individualized support plans Strong organizational abilities to manage schedules across multiple campuses Key duties of this contract role include: Delivering group and one-on-one counseling sessions Assessing student needs and developing support plans Coordinating with educational staff to address student concerns Documenting interventions and tracking student progress Promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive school climate This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in students' lives while applying your counseling expertise across diverse educational settings.
