Providence Hall's mission centers on teaching students to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly. Our students are prepared for college and career through AP Scholars, concurrent enrollment, and CTE programs — and our counselors play a central role in getting them there. Position Details Reports to:
Principal Schedule:
187 workdays during the school year, plus 10 additional days over the summer
Team:
One of 3 high school counselors, supporting a student population of approximately 650 What You'll Do Take a proactive, preventative approach to student support — counseling and connecting students and families with resources to enhance success Build individualized graduation plans aligned with each student's pathway and state requirements Support students' academic, personal, social, and life-skills development Coordinate the College and Career Awareness program alongside the counseling team Support the school's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) Collaborate with the junior high to ensure smooth transitions into high school Assist with College Awareness Week, registration, and class scheduling Partner with school leadership on improvement initiatives, academic standards, and equity practices Present counseling-related materials to students, families, staff, and the broader community Participate in department, campus, and LEA meetings and professional development Other duties as assigned What You Bring Current, valid Utah School Counseling license or an out-of-state license eligible for Utah transfer Proven experience as a High School Counselor Experience with Skyward, preferred. Familiarity with Google Workspace and collaboration tools Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask with attention to detail Professionalism and tact under pressure, with strong interpersonal skills Creative problem-solving and analytical thinking Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, and persuasive speaking skills Ability to pass a background check Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, move throughout the facility, and lead students to safety in an emergency Questions or accommodation requests?
