Job Summary We are seeking a Veteran Independence Program Advisor for a direct hire opportunity based in Anaheim, CA, serving Veterans across Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside Counties. This role supports Veterans through the Veteran Directed Care program by helping them coordinate services, manage budgets, maintain caregiver support, and continue living independently. The ideal candidate will be organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and confident applying California labor laws related to hiring, payroll, caregiver oversight, and employment practices. You will play an important part in helping Veterans access the services and support they need while partnering closely with the VA, caregivers, families, and community resources. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of 45 or more Veterans, including assessments, service plans, follow-ups, and ongoing support.
- Monitor participant services, budgets, timesheets, billing, and documentation to ensure compliance and continuity of care.
- Assist Veterans with caregiver hiring, onboarding, supervision, and employment-related processes.
- Conduct required in-person visits across assigned service territories, including Riverside County coverage from Corona through Blythe.
- Coordinate with VA partners, internal teams, caregivers, and community providers to support independent living goals.
- Maintain accurate case records while ensuring HIPAA compliance and professional documentation standards. Compensation and Benefits

Compensation:
$20 to $24 per hour.- Annual salary range: $41,600 to $49,900 per year.
- Office location: Anaheim, CA.
- Service area includes Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside Counties.
- Travel required up to 60%. Required Qualifications and Skills Primary duties and projects include:
- Managing Veteran case plans, assessments, budgets, and service coordination.
- Supporting caregiver hiring, onboarding, payroll-related oversight, and compliance.
- Maintaining accurate documentation, billing records, timesheets, and HIPAA-compliant case files.
- Coordinating in-person visits and communication with VA and community partners.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Experience applying labor laws related to hiring, payroll, employee oversight, and caregiver management.
- Understanding of the ADA, Rehabilitation Act, and Fair Housing Act.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 2 or more years of experience in case management, social services, veteran services, healthcare coordination, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, follow-up, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel up to 60% across assigned service areas.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with professionalism, accuracy, and compassion. Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish skills preferred.
