Join Institute of Applied Behavior Analysis (IABA) as an Employment Specialist and help adults with developmental disabilities build independence, confidence, and meaningful connections in their communities. What You'll Do As an Employment Specialist, you will support adults with autism and intellectual disabilities as they build independence and participate in their communities.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting clients achieve their goals in community settings, schools, and workplaces Promoting adaptive behaviors and teaching essential life skills Encouraging social connections and community participation Providing transportation and assisting with public transit training Supporting personal growth in a positive, encouraging environment Work Locations This position reports to our Irvine office, with services provided throughout South Orange County , including: Aliso Viejo Dana Point Newport Beach Mission Viejo Laguna Hills Laguna Niguel Rancho Santa Margarita Trabuco Canyon …and surrounding communities. Important Details Monday-Friday only Typical shift: 8:30 AM
  • 2:30 PM (Preferred availability: 8 AM
  • 5 PM) 30+ hours per week (full-time) No evenings or weekends $20
  • 22/hour depending on experience Requirements High school diploma or GED Reliable vehicle, valid California driver's license, and auto insurance Clean driving record Comfortable transporting clients in your vehicle CPR/First Aid and ProAct certification within 2 weeks of hire (training provided) Ability to physically assist clients as needed This may include: Personal care assistance (ADLs such as restroom assistance or hygiene support) Wheelchair assistance and mobility support Experience in ABA, caregiving, education, social services, or human services is a plus — but not required!
Important information This role involves unsupervised, direct support of children and/or adults in home, school, and community settings. Duties include implementing behavior plans, managing behavioral escalations, assisting with daily living needs, entering private residences, and accessing confidential health and personal information. Employment is contingent upon meeting applicable pre-employment requirements, which may include verification of education, employment history, credentials, motor vehicle records (if applicable), and other role
  • or state-specific requirements.
This role includes paid training and professional development opportunities, including required ACRE-related training and competency development designed to support success in employment services. Team members are required to successfully complete and pass all required training coursework, assessments, and competency requirements as part of the role within their first year. Why Join IABA?
