Service Area:
Antelope Valley Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Adaptive Skills Specialist II to provide individualized skills-acquisition services to children, adolescents, and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Adaptive Skills Specialist II works directly with individuals and their families to strengthen practical skills that support greater independence, safety, confidence, and participation at home and in the community. Areas of service may include personal hygiene, communication, socialization, transportation, and money management. This is a full-time position with an anticipated workload of approximately 35-40 hours per week. Services are provided in individuals' homes and community settings. Regular travel throughout the assigned service area is required. Essential Responsibilities Provide individualized, goal-directed skills-acquisition services in home, community, and virtual settings. Deliver structured sessions that promote independence and align with established service objectives. Collaborate with individuals, families, supervisors, and service providers to support person-centered goals. Collect accurate data and complete timely, professional session notes, reports, and assessments. Review documentation and monitor progress, barriers, and areas requiring continued support. Provide families with professional feedback regarding service progress. Participate in required meetings, supervision, training, and mentorship. Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies, HIPAA, and mandated-reporting laws. Protect confidential and proprietary company information and materials. Maintain reliable communication and travel between assigned service locations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, social work, education, human services, behavioral science, special education, rehabilitation, nursing, or a related field. Experience supporting children or adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Ability to independently organize and provide individualized services. Strong communication, collaboration, data collection, and professional documentation skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards. Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area. Ability to complete required background checks, clearances, and employment verifications. Dependable availability to maintain a consistent full-time schedule. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of relevant experience providing adaptive skills, independent living, behavioral, educational, or community-based services. Experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, ADHD, OCD, speech and language delays, or other developmental disabilities. Previous experience in Adaptive Skills Training, Applied Behavior Analysis, Independent Living Services, Supported Living Services, supported employment, special education, or behavioral health services. Previous experience as an Adaptive Skills Trainer, Adaptive Skills Specialist, Behavior Technician, Behavioral Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Caregiver, Special Education Professional, or related service provider. Current CPR and First Aid certification. Training in HIPAA compliance, mandated reporting, crisis prevention, and safety procedures. Clean driving record for the previous two years. Bilingual preferred. Schedule and Availability Candidates must be able to maintain dependable availability during scheduled service hours. Compensation and Benefits Final compensation will be based on education, relevant experience, demonstrated competencies, specialized skills, assigned responsibilities, and organizational needs.
