Job Description

Purpose of Position
  • Assists with the maintenance, installation and support of assistive technology and communications devices for individuals in Imagine!
's direct services. Conducts appropriate assistive technology training for Imagine! staff. Supports the Manager with the implementation of major technology projects. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Works across all Imagine! Services locations, including individual homes and community locations, to support the implementation of Assistive Technology. Assists in client technology plan development. Manages a caseload of individuals, providing personalized assistive technology support and solutions to enhance their independence and daily functioning. Assists with technology plan documentation/implementation. Documents task analysis for prompting tasks. Assists with customizing client technology interfaces per individual client needs. Evaluates and documents client technology knowledge base, and recommends teaching strategies. Provides and documents technology training for both clients and staff. Assists with communication device backup, maintenance and programming. Coordinates as needed with therapists, specialists, Imagine! staff, and others. Attends community events on behalf of Imagine!. Attends client meetings as necessary. Helps identify clients who would benefit from Assistive Technology support. Represents Imagine! in an appropriate and effective manner in the community. Provides adaptive technology solutions within programs, utilizing equipment such as 3D printers for custom modifications, adaptive bikes for mobility support, and virtual reality for skill development and engagement. Other Duties/Responsibilities Establishes a strong mentorship with clients by providing quality support. Provides excellent customer service and support to clients, colleagues, and external partners. Supports additional Assistive Technology programs as they are developed.
Job Qualifications Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
Solid skills in working with people with developmental disabilities and/or their families. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals. Ability to work in a team environment with shared responsibilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels. Effective and creative negotiator and problem solver. Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements. This position requires regular use of a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet. This position requires regular use of a personal vehicle with liability insurance that meets Imagine! standards.
Training/Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Willingness and ability to successfully complete Imagine! and job specific trainings.
Experience:
Minimum of one year experience working with people with intellectual/ developmental disabilities required. Experience with technologies used by Imagine!, such as Dynavox and AbleLink preferred.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
Computer, keyboard, and mouse used up to 7 hours daily. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds for assistive technology equipment. Frequent kneeling, twisting and bending. Travel by car throughout the Front Range area. Work is performed in a variety of settings including homes, offices, and community sites.
