Associate Director of College Counseling Greenwich Academy - 4.7 Greenwich, CT Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Writing skills Community relationship building Full Job Description Greenwich Academy seeks an outstanding educator to join a collaborative team of counselors in a college counseling office that, above all, builds strong and personal relationships with students and their families. The new counselor will work closely with the other members of the team to advise students throughout their entire high school journeys, helping to make appropriate academic and extra-curricular choices and to build thoughtful, ambitious college lists. Extensive, proactive, and personal support are the hallmarks of our office, and the new member must be committed to providing that kind of care to every student throughout their application processes. In addition, the associate director will share in the responsibilities of community outreach, communication with colleges, and development of new initiatives. The successful candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills as well as an appetite for professional development and travel to conferences and college campuses. A minimum of three years of experience in selective college admissions or school-based college counseling is required. Familiarity with and exposure to students pursuing recruitment for athletics and performing or visual arts is preferred, and facility with SCOIR is a plus. Candidates who have demonstrated values consistent with the school's mission, such as an engagement with lifelong learning and a commitment to diversity and inclusion, are encouraged to apply. A candidate with considerably more experience in the field may join the office as a Co-Director. Some flexibility in start day and fall commitment may be available, with the expectation that the new counselor will take on full responsibilities with the Class of 2028 cohort in late fall or early winter.
