Gilead Community Services is seeking an attentive and recovery-oriented Recovery Support Specialist to join our multi-disciplinary outpatient and residential program staff.
About the position:
The Recovery Support Specialist for Gilead's New Britain area adult outpatient and residential substance abuse program works M, T, W, Th 4:00 PM - 9:00PM (20 hours per week) providing recovery oriented clinical case management services to individuals with significant histories of substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. The individual in this role supports clients in their recovery, assists clients in working on identified goals, completes documentation paperwork and contact notes as necessary, and helps clients to obtain necessary services and benefits.
Minimum Requirements:
Completed DMHAS Consumer Training or has completed and has Certification from an Accredited Recovery Support Program At least one year experience preferred. Must maintain and provide proof of valid driver's license and automobile insurance in good standing Reliable use of personal vehicle as needed

Responsibilities:
Understanding the needs of clients with substance abuse disorders and co-occurring mental health issues through Gilead's training and education Providing recovery-oriented services with an emphasis on dignity, respect, and inclusion of family and other natural supports Providing clinical case management services to a case load of approximately 16 clients, including education regarding relapse prevention and symptom management, advocacy, and assistance connecting to vocational, entitlement, housing, and other supports Completing documentation in a timely manner, including intake paperwork, contact notes, and other required paperwork Acting with compassion, integrity, and ethics Gilead employees are held to standards and regulations set by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and other regulatory bodies.
