Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by providing support in an educational setting near New Castle, Delaware. This contract position offers the opportunity to create a positive impact, working closely with students who benefit greatly from dedicated paraprofessional assistance. There are two positions available, both located onsite.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
DE Paraeducator Permit is required and must be current. Candidates with permits in process or pending will not be considered unless a screenshot from the DEEDS portal is provided. Minimum of one year of experience as a paraprofessional, particularly in school settings. Experience supporting either medical needs or students with extensive emotional or therapeutic requirements is preferred. For the STRIVE program, a background in therapeutic support is highly desirable. Willingness and ability to pay for CBC fingerprinting as part of pre-employment requirements. Male paraeducator preferred for full-year medical leave position due to caseload needs. Ability to work collaboratively with educators, specialists, and students. Professionalism, reliability, and a passion for making a difference in education.Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day support and engagement for students in either a general education environment or within specialized programs. Implement individual instructional plans and behavior management strategies as directed by certified staff. Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere while helping students develop academic, emotional, and social skills. Maintain confidentiality and diligently document student progress as required. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support.Contract Details:
Position is full-time onsite, Monday through Friday (35 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch). Assignments run through 6/8/2027, offering long-term stability and the chance to build meaningful relationships.
